Many of the devices that we use on a daily basis anything from the computer, the refrigerator to the light bulb were invented by people of color who never received the recognition they deserved. The postal mailbox, the traffic light, the first cell phone. The list of accomplishments by Black Inventors is a story that for far too long has been ignored by those who teach the young. I grew up only hearing about George Washington Carver and his discoveries related to the Peanut, such as Penicillin. Dr. Charles Drew discovered the process to separate plasma from blood and started the first blood bank in the United States.
My goal is to produce an e-book about these highly talented individuals and their contributions to society as we know it. The e-book would be available to school and public libraries at no cost to the public. I have set up a GoFundMe page to solicit public funding to start this project.https://www.gofundme.com/e-book-afro-american-inventors. I humbly ask those who follow my blog to consider donating to my project. Thanks.
