Modern society continues its rapid pace towards self-destruction with no rational concern about coming up with solutions to save civilization from itself. There is the problem of a massive shift of populations from one part of the planet to another for profit on one end and a desire for a better life no matter what the cost on the other. The beginning of a backlash by those countries that are being directly affected is on display for all to see. They are building fences and whenever possible walls to reroute the problem somewhere else as if that was the only solution worthy of consideration.
There is a new level of anger being expressed in the 24-hour news cycle. This phenomenon is displayed daily as a sideshow to the Trump era of governance. There was a time not too long ago when the “talking heads” who appear as guests on these shows were at the least courteous to each other. Now the hosts of some shows lose control of the discussion and actually become part of the breakdown of civility and respect that is being shown on a daily basis. Has society reached the point of no return? I personally don’t think so but those chosen to lead by example have always come up short in our eyes due to a constant reality. “Human error.” The term that is used to make a disaster more palatable to our understanding of failure. World events show that in the interconnected global society we all call home there exists a reality that cannot be ignored. We will all float or sink together. Trying to get a point out by yelling at each other has never worked, and it never will.
