Society has evolved to the point that we now understand why we in America now turn a blind eye to the fact that there are more people than ever-living on the streets of our cities. We have now accepted the fact that there is now a permanent underclass being formed in the cities and towns across America. Those who for whatever reason or not fell under the radar are now invisible in the eyes of society as we now know it. Our government now seems obsessed with riding the country of those who do not have legal status and build a wall to keep out the mass migration that continues to travel from countries south of Mexico. Access to our country through legal immigration is the only way our country will survive. That is a fact that cannot be dismissed by those in Washington who are supposed to carry out the will of the people.
America is an aging society that needs what all countries need. The young to build and improve the lives of future generations but also to care for the aging. The way things are now the baby boomers will, for the most part, be on their own during their “golden years.” Health care costs will also be a factor that must be addressed. Where will the caregivers come from is another factor to be considered. The president announced a multi-billion dollar deal for military equipment to be sold to the Saudis. Is that really a priority for the president.? There no interest in the rising tide of poverty that we all see and ignore to our collective detriment. Ignoring a problem will not make it go away. That is something our elected leaders and society as a whole seems to have forgotten.
