Mankind has learned through trial and error learned through a couple million years of living on this earth to endure the extremes of nature, and our innate ability to threaten to destroy civilization as we now know it. We have broken time down to less than a second. Time was measured by the sundial, the hourglass, and finally the clock. Society has evolved from the analog to the wireless digital devices that we all depend on to remind us of daily responsibilities.
All the time in the world is given to the young..but it is also said that youth is wasted on the young. That is rarely a true statement. We are now a society that runs on a twenty-four hour cycle. Our electronic devices consume more and more of our attention on a daily basis. I think that society is suffering from sensory overload. We have mastered time that is true but at what price?
Modern man is both the master, and the slave of time. But our lives will always be on the countdown clock. That is something we can never forget.
