America will experience the life and times of Donald Trump as the leader of the most powerful nation on earth within the next week. The events leading up to inauguration day do not give one a feeling that things will be all love for country, and how the democratic system has worked as it was designed by the founding fathers who could not and should not see how things are a couple of centuries down the road. We will all get to know the president-elect over the next four to eight years. Mr. Trump may not really have believed that he could actually win the highest elected office in America. There were a lot of people who had the same mindset.
This is a time of uneasiness in the minds of most Americans about this man of the twitter fame. people of color are feeling that the slogan “make america great again” is code for time when this country’s attitude was focused on the racial divide that kept minorities in their place. The times we are facing as a country will not be as bad as the civil rights era but they will change the way we see ourselves as a more tolerant society in the future.
There is nothing new here when it comes to who we are as human beings, and how we behave no one is perfect. The people who will lead society are just like you and me. They cannot always hide the side of their personality that may not always be flattering. Mr. Trump is very transparent about who he is, and we will all see right through him in the end.
