The world awaits the coronation of Donald Trump on January 20, 2016, The age of Trump awaits us all. There is a feeling of uncertainty among those who voted and I,m sure those who didn’t, and now wished they had. That is the freedom of Democracy, and the waste of the privilege to vote that so many people of color suffered, and died for during the civil rights era. To most of the young, that time is as old as the story of American slavery and its ramifications are lost on the so-called millennial generation who see world events from today forward instead of dwelling on the past.
Mr. Trump will change America as we know it today that is par for the course after a major political election cycle. This was a big one after Barak Obama we were as a society hypnotized into wanting to believe that Hillary Clinton was entitled to the title of being the first female president of the United States. This was a stinging defeat for the old standbys women, and minorities.
Mr. Trump appears to have the mandate of a group of Americans who now feel what it’s like to be marginalized in their own country. America has always been great for some. They now want to get that old power mindset returned through the will and tenacity of our soon to be commander in chief Donald Trump. Interesting times awaits us all.
