An American citizen called the first, and probably the last Afro-American first lady in our country’s troubled racial history a racially derogatory name this blip on the 24 hour news cycle that we are accustomed to shows just how far we as a society have come after witnessing the racial, and civil violence of the 60’s. What lessons have we as Americans used to change the ingrained dislike of others who are different from those who we choose to ” let down our guard down around” and just be ourselves. The racial divide that is present in our modern American society started with the first legal ownership of another person which was usually a person of color.
I have serious concerns about the the”other people” who have a different view of how things should be handled under the leadership of Donald Trump. Once again we are at a turning point in the history of world events where we as a nation cannot afford to get this wrong. Racial bigotry is as old as mankind. We all know it is all around us on a daily basis. What we choose to do as individuals to make the world that we all love more exciting. We all should start by realizing that we all have a finite time to live our lives, and every negative thought that we as individuals have about others lessens ourselves, and the time that we are given to be on this earth. We as mortals don’t have time to to waste. The clock we live by is a countdown clock. That is something we must not forget.
