Syrian Sonata Revisited

I have written in past blogs about what is currently happening in Syria. Things continue to spiral out of control of those who are doing the actual fighting. This is making life a total nightmare for the civilian population. The face of the refugees who are streaming out of the middle east, and more important north Africa in an attempt to reach Europe. Thousand have died this year alone. This mass migration of humanity will surely change societies, and attitudes including how we treat others that we now call foreigners.

The American people will elect the next president within the next two weeks. There is a feeling of disunity within the republican party that is unprecedented in American politics all because of  Donald Trump. Mr Trump in my opinion is a symbol for the last grasp for the white males in America to retain some kind of symbolic power.

I remember America when race relations in this country were exclusively between blacks and, whites. It was only after the signing of the civil rights of 1964 by then president Johnson that all people who were marginalized by society sought basic human rights.

Syria, and the middle east events will change the world as we now know it. The person we elect to led the free world means we have to get this right at the ballot box. Good luck.
